Kariya International Plaza was opened as a venue to increase global involvement in the city and promote friendly interactions with foreign countries and their citizens. This is an ideal place for people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds to meet and deepen friendships.

Sister city corner

A corner is dedicated to a sister city of Kariya, the City of Mississauga (Ontario, Canada), where information on Mississauga is given and commemorative gifts presented by the city are exhibited.

Mini-kitchen

A freestanding island kitchen equipped with cooking utensils and tableware is available to use for cultural exchange through cooking. (If you wish to use the kitchen, please inquire in advance.)

Multi-language PCs

PCs in the International Plaza support five languages: Japanese, English, Filipino, Portuguese, and Chinese. Visitors can use the Internet, as well as Word and Excel applications on the PCs for free.

International exchange room

This room is used for volunteer activities to promote local globalization and multicultural understanding, including Japanese language classes and international exchange events held on weekends.

Useful information is offered in several languages, including information about Japanese language classes and events held in Aichi prefecture as well as guides for living in Japan.

Foreign books and magazines

English-language magazines and magazines on studying abroad, as well as newspapers and weekly magazines from China, Brazil and Vietnam, are available for public reading, providing up-to-date information to visitors.

Books about cross-cultural understanding and international interactions, foreign picture books, maps, and dictionaries are freely available for reading.

Meeting rooms

Meeting rooms 201 (seating 45 people) and 202 (seating 27 people) are offered to groups engaged in international activities upon registration.
